The reason behind the inception of Levenson Health & Wellness (LHW), was a result of the change in health care delivery, in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic. The approved use of Telehealth for the provision of services to support clients in their health, wellness, and nutrition needs, has proven to be very effective. This has been especially valuable to those individuals with underlying mental health considerations, such as depression, anxiety, or recovery, who prefer to work with their wellness nurse via Telehealth for their comfort, convenience and safety. The provider, Sharon Levenson, is offering these services to the residents of Vermont.
The primary goal of LHW is to improve the quality of life, mental health status, and overall wellness for clients, using an integrative approach to support, motivate, and encourage healthy lifestyle changes. Telehealth (audio and/or video) is a means of delivering services that allows the clients to remain in the comfort of their own home, thus eliminating the stress and logistics of travel.
Sharon Levenson RN, BSN, CMHIMP, will work with each client to develop a personalized health plan, and will monitor accordingly. The health plan will be an integrative assessment and include histories of physical/medical issues, mental health, nutrition, digestion, exercise/activity, addictions, attitudes and beliefs, genetics, culture, sleep habits, stressors, pain issues, detoxification behaviors, dietary allergies and sensitivities, as well as client’s relationship with food. From this comprehensive assessment, Sharon will work with the client to explore and identify simple, attainable goals, that will elicit a sense of ownership, pride and enhancement of self care, as well as employing and maintaining preventative health measures.
The goal of LHW is to provide services primarily to those clients with mental health factors such as depression, anxiety, and more recently, agoraphobic behaviors exacerbated by the recent Coronavirus pandemic. A notable portion of the population has reported an increase in depression, weight gain, a sense of isolation, and lack of attention to healthy eating or exercise behaviors during home confinement. While working with their therapists, clients have been expressing a desire to improve their overall sense of health and wellness. To provide Telehealth services to support clients in their quest to feel better, and to prevent further illness, in combination with therapy visits, would result from connecting with therapists and clinicians in Vermont, who can identify clients who would benefit from this integrative approach, thus referring them to LHW. Currently LHW is credentialed as a VT Medicaid provider, as well as TRICARE, and Optum Healthcare.
